The Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences of the College of Arts, Sciences and Teacher Education launched the English Speaking Drive on Sept. 9 at the USI Auditorium with the theme and slogan “I can speak up, speak out, speak well good English”. The aim of this program is to make USI an English Speaking institution.
The said activity was also a part of the celebration of the LHSS week, pioneered by the Dean of the CASTED, Dr. Belen A. Relleno, the coordinator of the LHSS, Mrs. Maria Cristina P. Bustamante and the entire CASTED faculty.
Other activities were also held in this event like the Night of Songs, Prose and Poetry which was headed by Ms. Pilits Gonzales and Mrs. Rosalyn Valencia. This was participated by students taking up general education subjects under the LHSS area. There was also an exhibit, an extemporaneous contest and a variety program which showcased the learning and talents of the students in Philosophy, Psychology, Arts, English and History.
