September 1, 2009 is the special day of “Pagsungko ni INA sa USI.” The procession of INA, Our Lady of Penafrancia, from the Metropolitan Cathedral to USI started at 8:00 a.m. Procession participants were composed of the Acolytes/Knights of the Altar, BED SCO Officers and HED CSG Officers, HED COM, SSVP, Luisas, Faculty, Admin, Co-Acad Officers, DC Sisters, Co-Acad and Maintenance, Voyadores Team A, and the USI Band.

The procession entered through the Green Parlor passing along the Registrar’s Office to Mary’s Garden, on through the volleyball court of SJW bldg., and unto the Paranymphus/SA Lobby. The University Chorale broke into a Welcome Song, followed by Words of Welcome from the University President, Sr. Ma. Asuncion G. Evidente, DC, and a Welcome Dance from ACAT.

By 9:00 a.m. INA was brought to the Social Hall for the Floral Offerings and Vigil schedules. At 4:00 p.m. is the Eucharistic Celebration, Fr. Jay Jacinto, SJE Parochial Vicar, Presider. Mrs. Claire de Hitta, BED Principal, delivered a Thanksgiving Message.

At 5:00 p.m. a procession bringing INA back to the Cathedral was participated in by the USI family. Once more, we have been blessed. VIVA LA VIRGEN!
