  1. Micro-Financing for Livelihood Project (Buhay-Puhunan Project)
This micro-finance project of the university provides capital support to community members who would like to start or augment the capitalization of their own small business enterprise.  Once the community people have a planned project, they are given the opportunity to apply for a soft loan from the “Buhay Puhunan Project”, a capital support scheme being implemented by the USI-CES.  However, they are encouraged to maintain a group savings account so that a learner will have a guarantee in applying for loan.
  1. Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Relief & Rehabilitation
The University organizes relief and rehabilitation operations whenever there are calamities in the Bicol Region. Relief goods distribution is the immediate response of the University whenever there are disasters but it also provides rehabilitation activities such as reconstruction of homes, livelihood support, disaster trainings and psycho-social activities for the victims.
