PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Greetings from Universidad de Sta. Isabel Education Community!
Over a year into a global pandemic, we continue to address the disruption in education that came with COVID-19. We considered the past year (2020) as a year that brought the most disruptive amount of change in modern education. In that year, on a global scale, almost all higher educational institutions were forced to tackle huge challenges quickly and, out of necessity, have shifted abruptly to teaching and learning modalities that have not been tried before. But with more than 150 years of proven resiliency and adaptability, with strategic planning and decisions, the Universidad de Sta. Isabel had surpassed all the challenges; overcame all the hurdles; and accelerated the change and innovations needed to meet the needs of the students- yesterday, present, and future.
Amid a persisting pandemic, the hope to go back to a certain level of normalcy in schooling remains to be uncertain and ambiguous. But inspired by the proven tradition and history of Universidad de Sta. Isabel, its commitment to excellence and mission to make quality Vincentian education accessible for all, regardless of modalities, the university had explicitly mapped out its future through its Five-Year Strategic Directions. As an academic community, it aspires to gain a National and Global Distinction in all academic programs and social advocacies by

SUSTAINING VINCENTIAN AND GLOBALLY ORIENTED PERSONNEL & STUDENTS
MAINTAINING INTERNATIONAL STANDARDIZATION OF ACADEMIC PRACTICES

LEVERAGING ON ICT TO PROVIDE TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING AND SERVICES

PURSUING GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE AND FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT
PRIORITIZING INNOVATIONS THAT DIVERSIFY CAREER PATHWAYS
ENSURING EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT, AND ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
MANAGING LINKAGES, RESEARCH, AND INNOVATION
As COVID-19, with its different variants, continue to transform education and threaten the wellbeing of humanity, 2021 remains to be challenging in its own right. But armed with significant learning, reflection, and realization from the last academic year, as a higher educational institution, USI continues to change, evolve, and remain agile. By leveraging technology, investing in teacher’s training and research, teacher, personnel, students, and parents must have to be optimistic about the new academic year.
So, as you get back to the classrooms, either through a hybrid model, with limited face to face classes, or purely distance or online, I summon you to seize every opportunity that the Universidad de Sta. Isabel provides to ensure that you acquire and master the knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, or dispositions you need to thrive and flourish in a work environment and a future that is full of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA).
May you take advantage of the spiritual formations designed for you, participate in all student development activities and involved in the community extension services that help sustain your connection with your friends, classmates, and batchmates particularly in this era of physical distancing, and hone your sense of compassion and service to those in situations of poverty.
With a hopeful and grateful heart, I welcome you all and pray that we all have a fruitful and meaningful academic year!
I wish you to have a heart all filled with Jesus Christ. St. Vincent de Paul!
